理念（Philosophy）
ブリーディングに対する姿勢はシンプルです。
「良い犬を作ることは難しい。しかし、それを永年にわたってつなげていくことはさらに難しく、厳しい。」
その信念こそが、エッフェルゼントバンビの根幹を支えています。
さらに大切なのは、どんなに優れた犬を買い集めても、タイプがばらばらでは意味がないということです。
長い時間をかけて「バンビ系」と呼ばれる独自のタイプを作り上げ、固定してきたことこそ、エッフェルゼントバンビの誇りであり、本当の価値なのです。
Our breeding philosophy is simple:
“Creating a good dog is difficult. Preserving and passing it on for generations is even more difficult and demanding.”
This belief has been the foundation of Effelgent Bambi Kennel.
Equally important is the principle that no matter how many excellent dogs you buy, it is meaningless if their types are inconsistent.

創成期（1960年代）
Foundation Years (1960s)
物語の始まりは10歳の頃。最初に迎えたのはコリーでしたが、やがて訪れたある家で、座布団の上に佇む2頭のマルチーズに出会い、その魅力に心を奪われました。流れるようなロングコートと愛らしい姿は、それまで抱いていたコリーへの情熱を一瞬にして超えるほどの衝撃でした。
犬雑誌『愛犬の友』を読み漁り、血統や犬名を暗記する日々が始まりました。1963年、横田基地で開催された本部展に足を運び、星条旗が半旗に掲げられていた光景を鮮明に覚えています。1965年、池袋の大丸百貨店屋上で開催された日本初のオールトイドッグショーでは、多くの名犬とブリーダーたちに出会い、自分のマルチーズがショードッグではないことを痛感しました。
その悔しさが、「いつか理想のマルチーズを自分の手で作り出す」という情熱に火をつけました。
1960年代半ば、秀健荘の小林文雄氏がアメリカから Enchan’s Master Dancer を導入し、関西では Joe Enchan’s Seeker Dancer が来日しました。これらの名犬がもたらした血統は、日本のマルチーズ界をクラシックからモダンへと大きく変革し、のちにエッフェルゼントバンビの基礎を築く大きな要素となりました。
The story began at the age of ten with a Collie. Later, upon visiting a family, the sight of two Maltese sitting gracefully on cushions captivated the heart. Their flowing long coats and charming appearance completely surpassed the earlier passion for Collies.
Days were spent devouring the magazine Aiken no Tomo (“Dog Lovers’ Friend”), memorizing pedigrees and names. In 1963, attending the JKC All-Breed Show held at Yokota Air Base left a vivid memory—especially seeing the American flag at half-mast after the assassination of President Kennedy. In 1965, at the first All-Toy Dog Show on the rooftop of the Daimaru Department Store in Ikebukuro, the young breeder realized that his own Maltese was far from show quality.
This disappointment fueled a determination: “One day, I will create the ideal Maltese with my own hands.”
By the mid-1960s, Mr. Fumio Kobayashi of Shuken-so had imported Enchan’s Master Dancer from the U.S., while in Kansai, Joe Enchan’s Seeker Dancer arrived. These influential imports transformed the Maltese in Japan from a classic to a modern style, forming a foundation that would later shape Effelgent Bambi.
第一期黄金期（1970年代）
First Golden Era (1970s)
1967年、19歳で「バンビ」のマルチーズを迎え、いよいよ本格的にブリーディングが始まりました。
やがて Sinker, Adonis, Sunny Boy といった名犬が生まれ、日本のショーで輝かしい成績を収めます。
アドニスは、東京で開催されたクラブ展においてCrufts BISジャッジのSelma Gray女史を迎えた舞台でBest in Showを獲得しました。
これは若き日の情熱を大いに刺激し、バンビ犬舎の名を広めるきっかけとなりました。
In 1967, at the age of nineteen, the first Maltese of “Bambi” line was obtained, and breeding truly began.
Soon after, names such as Sinker, Adonis, and Sunny Boy emerged, bringing prestige to the kennel.
Adonis notably won Best in Show under Crufts BIS judge Selma Gray at a Tokyo club show, a turning point that greatly expanded recognition of Effelgent Bambi.
第二期黄金期（1980年代～1990年代初頭）
Second Golden Era (1980s – Early 1990s)
1980年代は、エッフェルゼントバンビが日本マルチーズ界の中心として確固たる地位を築いた黄金時代でした。
1983年 – Sunny Boy Jr. が本部展で1700頭を超える出陳の頂点に立ち、BISを獲得。
1986年 – Barbara が3000頭を超えるショーでBISを制覇。
1991年 – Madonna はショーには出さなかったものの、偉大な台牝として第3期につながる基盤を築きました。
さらに Stephanie が2000頭規模のショーでBISを獲得し、まさに全盛期と呼ぶにふさわしい成果を残しました。
この時代の学びは「一代で結果を求めてはならない」ということでした。アウトブリードは土台作りであり、その成果は数年後に花開くのです。
The 1980s marked the establishment of Effelgent Bambi as a central figure in the Japanese Maltese world.
1983 – Sunny Boy Jr. triumphed at the JKC National Show with over 1,700 entries, taking BIS.
1986 – Barbara claimed BIS in a massive show of more than 3,000 entries.
1991 – Madonna, though not shown, became an exceptional brood bitch whose legacy laid the groundwork for the third era.
Additionally, Stephanie won BIS at a show with 2,000 entries, further solidifying this golden period.
The great lesson of this era: Results cannot be demanded in a single generation. Outcrosses build the foundation, and it takes patience for the results to bloom in later years.
第三期黄金期（1990年代後半～2000年代）
Third Golden Era (Late 1990s – 2000s)
長年のラインブリーディングの中で生じる課題、例えばサイズや停留睾丸の問題と向き合いながら、アメリカから導入した血統との融合で新たな柱を築きました。
その象徴が Sweet Spirit です。大きな黒い目と健全な構成を備えたスイートは、アメリカチャンピオン Surrey Screecher Owl の美点を受け継ぎ、バンビ犬舎の基盤をさらに強化しました。
この流れの中で生まれた Stephanie は、1991年に2000頭のショーでBISを勝ち取り、第三期黄金期を代表する存在となりました。
Linebreeding over many years inevitably presented challenges, including size and cryptorchidism. To overcome these, American lines were integrated to strengthen the foundation.
The symbol of this era was Sweet Spirit, inheriting the beautiful large black eyes and sound structure from the American Champion Surrey Screecher Owl. Sweet became one of the strongest pillars of the kennel.
From this line came Stephanie, who in 1991 took BIS among 2,000 entries, representing the pinnacle of this third era.
第四期黄金期（2000年代～2010年代）
Fourth Golden Era (2000s – 2010s)
2000年代に入り、犬舎は40周年を迎えました。この時期に生まれたのが Good Luck（Trump）、そして姉妹の Eva と Seraphy です。
Trump – 2011年、FCI東北インターでBISを獲得。小柄ながらも圧倒的な存在感で、海外ジャッジからも高い評価を得ました。
Eva – Pedigree Award を受賞し、理想的な容姿を持つマルチーズとして評価されました。
Seraphy – 複数のBISを獲得し、Supreme International Champion（Sup INT CH）を完成。ショードッグとしての華やかさで犬舎を牽引しました。
さらにこの時期、Yamato や Nana（Elsa） なども台頭し、Nanaは3度のBISを制し、Sup INT CHを完成。困難なコロナ禍を乗り越えたこの活躍は、犬舎にとって大きな誇りとなりました。
In the 2000s, Effelgent Bambi celebrated its 40th anniversary. This era produced Good Luck (Trump) and the two sisters Eva and Seraphy.
Trump – In 2011, he won BIS at the FCI Tohoku International. Despite his small size, he earned remarkable recognition from international judges.
Eva – Recipient of the Pedigree Award, admired for her ideal appearance.
Seraphy – Claimed multiple BIS titles and completed Supreme International Champion (Sup INT CH).
Later came Yamato and Nana (Elsa). Nana achieved three BIS wins and earned her Sup INT CH title, even during the challenging pandemic period—an accomplishment that remains a source of pride.
第五期 – 現在と未来（2025年～）
Fifth Era – Present and Future (2025–)
2025年6月20日、2頭のオスと2頭のメスが誕生しました。
これが「エッフェルゼントバンビNewライン」の始まりです。
長年、日本のマルチーズ界には新しい血の導入が乏しい状況が続いていました。しかし2024年、新しい牡犬が導入され、2胎の交配が行われました。その結果、バンビ犬舎とソフィアに新しい命が誕生し、次世代へとつながる大切な礎が築かれました。
これは「バンビを深く愛する新しいオーナー様」と共に未来へと歩むための挑戦であり、犬舎創設から63年を経てなお、進化を続ける証です。
On June 20, 2025, two males and two females were born—marking the beginning of a new Effelgent Bambi line.
For many years, Japan saw little introduction of new Maltese bloodlines. In 2024, however, a new male was introduced, and through two breedings, litters were born both at Effelgent Bambi and Effelgent Sophia. These new lives form the foundation for the future, to be nurtured together with devoted new owners who share a deep love for Bambi.
Even after 63 years, Effelgent Bambi continues to evolve and move forward.

エッフェルゼントバンビの歴史は、常に挑戦と忍耐の連続でした。
良い犬を作ることは難しい。しかし、それを何十年もつなぎ続けることはさらに難しい。
その信念を胸に、1967年の第一歩から今日まで歩み続け、
そして未来へと進んでいきます。
The history of Effelgent Bambi Kennel has always been one of challenge and perseverance.
Creating a good dog is difficult. Preserving and passing it on for decades is even more challenging.
With this philosophy, Effelgent Bambi has walked from its first steps in 1967 to today—and will continue into the future.
